Chapter 2

You knew that there would be no defying the regional governments. They ultimately controlled how the world worked. To see that they all agreed on working together on the terrorism conflict was beyond surprising. They've had enough, and they were going to do something about it, even if it meant changing everyone's entire lifestyle to make them safer.

You had no complaints to the emergency laws they established. It took awhile for the people of the world to understand. They were not rushing people to go get their Pokemon screened, the governments understood that it would take some time to go through all the trainers of the world.

It was a time consuming process to accept, but you did adapt quickly. You noticed that you began to smile a bit more, even if the others of your town seemed to smile less. Karry had her Venusaur screened, and they held on to it for awhile. She put up a fight about it. They assured her that she treated her Pokemon well, and would give it back.

It was odd seeing people without Pokemon, as many of them were currently held at the local Pokemon hospital. They were assured that the screenings were free and the trainers would eventually get their companions back. It wasn't a bad thing to have the government invest heavily into the procedure. There were always too few laws, it seemed.

The hospital oddly did not want to hold onto your Growlithe, as you were quite willing to get it screen and cared for. You recalled when you brought it up to the hospital, that they were quick to go over the procedures with you, and repeat the new temporary laws that took place. You did not argue with any of the staff, and only gave them the information they wanted.

They seemed surprised by your positive attitude, and your lack of complaints. You surprised them more when you agreed that the new changes made you feel better.

You enjoyed the lack of conflict, as these so called trainers were not allowed to battle. You witnessed some people arguing, occasionally feeling where their Poke balls were on their possession, but realizing they either couldn't use them or that the Pokemon hospital had them.

Your society was used to using Pokemon to settle conflicts, instead of compromising. That was an issue you always had. Whoever had the strongest Pokemon usually won, or the most rare. Where was the fairness built around it?

Just as you could care less about the issues of others, it still amused you to see people fighting each other instead of their Pokemon.

While you were walking home after having your Growlithe screened, you saw some grown men fighting on the ground, wrestling each other. There was a confused fighting type Pokemon that stood next to the commotion. He had dark gray skin, three brown curved ridges on his head, and red eyes. It was called a Machamp, and he watched his trainer in confusion, with all four of his arms scratching his muscled head.

Another Pokemon was present, and it was a Hitmonchan, staring at his trainer as well. He had light brown skin, pointed ridges of the same color on his head, and red boxing gloves on his hands.

You chuckled at the commotion before yelling, "Human! Use dizzy punch!"

One of the men glared at you, before yelling back, "Shut up, you bitch!"

You snorted at the idiot's remark, before you added another one, "It was ineffective! You must already be confused!"

Then, you turned to look at the two Pokemon, shaking your head, "You guys really need to train your humans better, they're so weak and helpless. You might consider releasing them back in the wild."

The Machamp had a smile on his face, while the Hitmonchan covered his mouth, trying not to laugh. They started to chuckle, watching their trainers.

The two men stopped fighting each other, got up, and then stared at you, "Get the fuck out of here, you stupid girl," one of them said.

You gave him an unimpressed look, "This coming from the idiot who is embarrassing himself in front of his companions? What are you both fighting over, anyway?"

You had a better look at the both of them when they stopped punching each other. One of them was a tall, bulky built fool with oily black hair and crooked teeth, and the other was a slimmer, skinny man with a large head and acne.

"It doesn't concern you, wench," the acne scarred, skinny man sneered.

The other, larger man nodded in agreement, spitting next to your feet.

"Does threatening people give you a special thrill? You sound like a child with mommy issues," you replied.

Both of them tightened up their fists, before looking to their Pokemon.

"Machamp, why don't you grab her for us?" asked the large man.

"Hitmonchan, I think this girl should be your punching bag," said the skinny one.

The Machamp appeared confused, looking at his trainer and then back towards you. Hitmonchan did not look comfortable, either.

"Greigo, your Machamp needs some motivation," said the skinny man.

Greigo looked at the skinny one, "Durkin, worry about your Hitmonchan."

Both men then started to punch one another.

You only smacked your face before calmly speaking to their Pokemon, instead, "Why the hell are you letting these incompetent idiots tell you what to do? They're obviously not worthy of your time. If I were you, I would head to the Pokemon hospital. If you have problems they should be able to straighten them out."

The Machamp and Himonchan nodded in agreement before they began to walk away. Greigo and Durkin yelped in surprise to see their fighting type Pokemon were leaving.

"What the fuck, you stupid bitch? What did you do to my pal?" yelled Durkin as he was trying to take a swing at you.

You saw Machamp was quick to grab Durkin's upcoming punch, before applying small amounts of pressure to break his hand. Durkin screamed in pain.

Greigo took a swing next, aiming for your throat. Hitmonchan was quick to send a punch to his chest, knocking the wind out of the man and sending him to the ground.

Both Pokemon grunted before continuing their way towards where the Pokemon hospital was.

You then left, yourself, as both the fools remained unconscious on the ground.

For some reason, when you got home, you thought about the commotion you got caught up in. You were more relaxed and outspoken than you normally would. You were not worried about the trainers using their Pokemon on you, it was as if some confidence had been building up inside, that you were unaware of. Their Pokemon seemed terribly confused of the fight going between their trainers. It was illegal to force Pokemon to fight, and the fools knew that much, at least. Instead, the trainers fought each other.

You let Burny out of her Pokeball and pulled some food out of your kitchen for her. She was happy to comply. The Growlithe seemed happier to be in your care than in the possession of the reckless boy.

As your usual routine fell into place, you were quick to sit in your chair and wait for the evening news.

The same solemn looking man that had been delivering news to your TV appeared to hesitate. He shook his head, before muttering.

"Due to the increasing protests of pro battlers, the government has decided to increase security around all towns and cities. Trainers are still being asked to bring their Pokemon in for screening, or risk penalties to their training licences.

Pokemon breeders will also face strict regulations. You are not allowed to breed rare Pokemon without special permissions from your government. The list for acceptable Pokemon to breed will be provided to you by your local Pokemon hospital.

Fighting between Pokemon is still prohibited, and there has been a rise in human on human violence, instead of Pokemon being used for robberies and gang related activities, there has been an increase in weapon useage. Weapons such as guns are not common but are still available, as there has been shootings this past week."

You were no longer surprised about the violence, as you turned off the TV and thought about the stupid trainers that might end up killing themselves with weapons. As the day slowly darkened, you were yawning and heading towards your bedroom, falling asleep with Burny rolled up next to you.

You woke the following day, with a loud crash and rumbling of the ground. Your house shook, as if a great weight were pressing into the ground.

Running to get a head start for the door, you were quick to open it to see the commotion going on. Your heart was quick to race as you saw a giant metallic serpent roaming your neighborhood. You recognized the creature as a Steelix. It looked... confused, as it continuously turned, bumping into houses and causing massive damage.

You heard screams from inside the houses, as the Steelix had accidently left holes in some of the buildings. It was coming in your direction. There were a few people standing outside of their homes, Poke balls ready and aiming.

They were going to injure or attempt to kill the Steelix, you imagined. The poor creature did not look aggressive, only lost. The neighbors thought otherwise, as one of them had summoned a Charizard and ordered for their flying lizard to use a flamethrower.

You found that yelling would not stop these people, as irrational and afraid as they were. The Charizard was just as quick to release fire on the Steelix, causing the large creature to cry in pain, and swat at the Charizard with its tail.

The Charizard looked fat and well fed, but too slow to avoid a hit. It was smashed into one of the houses, and a roar came from its mouth as it released another flamethrower, which was too close to the building. The building then caught on fire, where people were still in it. You calmly walked over to the house that the commotion was going on, and yelled at the people to get out of it. Another trainer luckily owned a Corphish, and ordered it to use Hydro Pump on the burning home.

The fire was small, and the water was powerful to put it out. The damage was still there, though. Other people began to pull out their Pokemon in a panic, and were about to attack the Steelix.

"HEY IDIOTS!" you screamed at the local trainers. "Did you forget the new laws? Also, didn't you realize the damage will only get worse if you provoke the creature by attacking it?"

"It destroyed my house!" screamed a woman who pointed at a rip in her roof.

"My car got smashed in!" yelled a man who lived near you.

You ignored their complaints, before following the Steelix. It stayed on the main road, trying to avoid vehicles as it moved. You noticed the road was taking damage as well.

"Hey there!" you called to the Steelix. The creature lowered its large, wide head to look at you.

You were careful to walk up to it, and you place your hands on its face, "Are you lost?"

It made a low growl towards you, as if to say 'yes.'

You pointed towards the damage in the town, "Hey Steelix, I don't know where you came from, but you sure are leaving these folks' homes with some tears."

It looked towards you, and then you noticed it stare towards the Pokemon trainers.

You held up a ball in your hands, and the Steelix stared at you, instead.

"You don't like trainers, do you?" you spoke softly. "After all, you were just trying to find your way back home."

The Charizard from before came at the Steelix. A hot flame scorched the metallic serpent's back. The Steelix raged, swinging its tail back and forth.

You happened to be in the way when the tail came down, and for a moment, you felt warm, and you felt the pressure of Steelix's tail slam in your direction, knocking you to the ground.

Charizard and Steelix continued their onslaught, and you became unconscious.

When you woke up, you were not in a hospital. It was a dimly lit room with pale green paint on the walls, with brown rugs next to the bed.

You heard a voice spoke as you remained still, but awake.

"I'm surprised she's alive," muttered a voice.

"An unnecessary mess that was avoided," agreed another.

When you opened your eyes, you stared into the face of an unusual creature. It was humanoid in appearance with a black colored chest, with a purple glowing orb in the center, and red colored arms and legs, blue streaks crossed over the red in the shape of lines. It had a smooth, rounded blue face with black piercing eyes staring at you, and no noticeable mouth. It had three red spikes sticking out of its head like a crown.

Another creature stood close, it was small, about the size of a young child. Its body was feminine in appearance with a pale white face and pupiless blue eyes. A blue colored gem was centered on its forehead, with long, bright green hair on its head. A black shape stuck to the right side of its head, in the shape of a flower or musical note. It appeared to have a black cloth wrapped around its small body.

"Who... are you?" you asked the creatures.

A chuckle resonated from the mouthless creature in front of you, "I am what you would call... Deoxys," said the creature.

The other being giggled in amusement, "I am called... Meloetta, by your human race."

You stared at them, in curiosity. Your first reaction was to touch Deoxys' face, "How do you eat?"

Deoxys was surprised by your question, "I do not eat physical food like your human kind. I absorb energy."

You blinked, before asking again, "How are you able to talk?"

The Deoxys was clearly amused by your questions, "I don't know, how am I able to speak?" he said in sarcasm and shrugged his shoulders.

You noticed that Deoxys' voice almost sounded like an echo, as if it were going through your mind, whispering to you.

"Are you... using telepathy?" you asked.

Deoxys nodded.

The Meloetta was hovering above you, levitating in the air.

"You're both psychic Pokemon," was your guess. "You're both very intelligent Pokemon."

"Why would you say that?" was Deoxys' question.

You were quick to reply, "If you can ask questions and express sarcasm, you must be intelligent."

A grunt came from Deoxys, "What would that say about those trainers that you dealt with?"

"They're idiots. There's no comparison. They might as well be fertilizer for all I care," you muttered.

"Well... we can arrange that..." Meloetta muttered.

Deoxys was swift to turn his hands into tendrils and wrapped them around the floating Meloetta, shutting her mouth.

He then pushed Meloetta away from you by flinging her into the wall.

"You can not speak of such things," grumbled the Deoxys, "we are not allowed to threaten humans."

"But..." the Meloetta complained.

Deoxys shook his head, "She is merely speaking of her dislike of them, and you are promising an action towards it. There is a difference."

Meloetta grumbled before leaving the room.

"Where are we?" you asked.

"Surprisingly, we are in an old, unused church. You humans tend to abandon places that they no longer believe in. Quite wasteful," Deoxys commented.

"Which one?" you asked.

"Holy Ditto Order," he answered, with a chuckle.

You snorted, as you recalled the crazy church of the Holy Ditto Order. They believed that Dittos were the gods of your world, because they could mimic any shapes, but they were not the strongest creatures in the world.

"Why did you bring me here?" you asked, while shuffling in the bed.

Deoxys' tendriled arms returned to being hands, as the creature was slow to rub your forehead.

"You... are not like them at all..." whispered Deoxys.

You were confused, as you saw the creature blinked and stared at you, focused.

You were startled when the creature gave you a hug, and placed his head next to yours.

"So... unlike the rest of your kind. I can see it, you know. The truth, can not be hidden from me, from us. I can sense your mind, your memories, who you are. Those other humans, they can not see you like we can."

It was uncomfortable how close Deoxys was, as he was reading your mind, looking through your memories and your dreams.

His arms returned to being tendrils, as he stroked your arms in thought, tracing your nerve endings under your skin.

"You do not see Pokemon like the rest of your kind. They should... not be the slaves to your human race. I can see... the frown on your face when they gave you the Growlithe. You committed an action that went against everything you believed in. You became that which you hated most to protect something," he whispered to you.

You felt tears roll down your face, as he spoke the truth.

"I see... that you hate it, and the world, for trainers. You feel like a monster. The moment you accepted that registration, your world fell apart. You felt as if you could not escape it. A small, young creature with no one to protect it, and you went against everything you believed in to save it."

"Please stop..." you asked, quietly.

Deoxys was too focused on trying to understand you, that he didn't hear the door open to the room. You saw an angry gray humanoid feline barged in. A long violet tail jerked behind it. Its large violet eyes were quick to change into a blue colored hue.

The new creature was swift to use its psychic ability to pull Deoxys towards it. A clawed, three fingered hand was made into a fist before the feline slammed a punch into Deoxys' body, forcing him to the ground.

"What makes your actions any better than Meloetta's?" growled the newcomer.

"M-Mewtwo... I can explain...!" Deoxys grunted in pain.

Mewtwo pulled Deoxys up again, with little effort in power.

"You are both guilty, and there will be no more play. Now leave," Mewtwo stated.

Deoxys pulled away from Mewtwo, before vanishing in a teleport.

You were speechless, as you witnessed a stronger psychic in your presence.

The feline creature was proud and poised, walking with rigid shoulders. For each step it took, you pulled back.

You were recoiling in fear after seeing Mewtwo's demonstration.

"You need not fear me, human. I have not come to harm you," was his response.

Mewtwo remained standing, and lowered his head to stare at you. He was almost... motionless, except for an occasional tail swaying.

"You were brought here, uninvited. You have seen some of them, the psychics that lingered here in this human building."

"I... promise I didn't invite myself in! I have no idea what's going on!" you exclaimed, quietly.

Mewtwo only grunted in response, "It doesn't matter as to the reason. You are a guest for the time being. I can not throw you out, or wipe your memories."

Mewtwo then made a glare towards you, before turning away, while muttering something.

"My Mother wishes for you to remain. So stay, human, and we shall see what becomes of you."
